What colour are MJF parts without any finish?
Fresh off the printer, MJF parts are a dark grey to charcoal black colour. This is due to the fusing agent used during the printing process. Without any post-processing, the surface also retains a slightly grainy, matte texture. Parts can be further finished through media blasting (which lightens them to a uniform mid-grey), dyeing (black being the most popular), or painting for custom colours. If colour accuracy is important for your part, a dyeing or painting finish is recommended.
